OBOP welcomes any club members, school children and other members of the public to attend its Club and Schools Event on the morning of Sunday 16th August at Tui Ridge. This is a great opportunity for anyone new to orienteering to give the sport a go in a great area.
Courses Available

White = Basic navigation with a map, following tracks, fences and streams to control points. Yellow = Navigation involves following tracks, fences and streams, however controls points are sited off the route being followed. Orange = Cross country navigation requiring basic knowledge of contours to locate control points. |
Schools Event Details
The event is designed for school students of all ages and abilities - for beginners to have a go at orienteering and for students with prior orienteering experience. Guidance on recommended courses is provided above and students are welcome to run easier or more difficult courses, or to try multiple courses if time permits.
There will also be a coaching session for different ages and abilities from 9am to 10 am on the day.

If you are interesting in attending as a school student and attending the coaching session you must email us in advance at [email protected] providing the following information. You are welcome to collate the information for a group of students but do let us know how many will be attending so we can print enough maps and organise enough coaches.

This event will use clipcards that will be handed out at registration. Each competitor must carry a clipcard and clip the relevant box on the clipcard for each control they visit. Controls must be visited in the order shown on the map.
Results will be available after the event on this website and the Orienteering BOP Facebook page. Winners on each course and the boy and girl winners from each grade will be acknowledged.
