It was a hardy and select few who braved the bad weather to sprint or go round as families for the several short Sprint courses that Peter Fitchett had set. A big thanks to Peter for setting the courses. It was good to use one of our new Sprint maps.

OBOP Club and Schools Event, Tui Ridge - 16 August 2015
Results
The forested playground of Tui Ridge played host to August's OBOP event. In a change from the rogaine and score events of recent years, this event ran with set courses. Tom Reynolds was the setter, his comments are below:
It was great to see a good turnout both for the coaching and the event. I had last run on Tui Ridge over 10 years ago for a New Zealand Secondary Schools relay event. Compared to my memory the area is much bigger than I thought, and also included alot more off track detail. In setting courses I wanted to try and get make some challenging route choice options for the harder courses. Hearing feedback at the finish it sounds like the orange long especially did just that.
Having the start away from the registration tent, with a tape to the start triangle is the setup that happens at bigger events around the country. It was a little different from the usual for rogaines down here at OBOP, and I hope it didn't confuse too many people at the start.
The next club event is the Vegas Vindaloo MTB Orienteering weekend on the 5th and 6th of September.
