A winter night series, run over 3 consecutive weeks in June as a Junior OBOP fundraiser.
Come test yourself in the dark, build on your skills and enjoy a sausage sizzle at the end - gold coin donation.
Format:
60 minute rogaine - find as many controls as you can in the time allowed. Mass start for all entrants at 6pm. There will be 30 controls which will vary in value (600 points max = 1-10 worth 10pts, 11-20 worth 20pts & 21-30 worth 30pts).
In a rogaine you try and visit as many controls as you can in the time allowed, in this case 60 minutes. You will receive a SI orienteering chip when you register and you need to punch in the box which corresponds to the number on the control, proving that you have visited the control. Results will be downloaded at the end.
The series is a Junior fundraiser and is run by a number of junior members of the club to build on their skills and support them to compete and develop. The money raised from the series will be used to support junior members participation in regional/national level events and junior development camps.

Online entries HERE
Online entries will close at midnight Tuesdays night prior to the events.
As this is a fundraiser event we are really encouraging online pre-entry. This allows us to print the correct number of maps (less guess work on how many) and make sure we have enough sausages!
We will have limited spare maps for ‘on the night’ entries. On the night entries will be $5 extra per person.
SI Hire is included in the event fee.
What to bring:
Suitable running or walking clothing and footwear including something warm for during/afterwards
Water - there will be no water provided.
A good headlight or torch
Cellphone
A compass can be useful, but not essential.
Gold coin for the sausage sizzle
POSTPONEMENTS AND CANCELLATIONS
Note that the event will go ahead even if it is raining. If the weather is really extreme and we choose to postpone the event it will be communicated on the OBOP Facebook page and via an email to our database by 1pm on the day of the event.
