More specific directions on how to get to the event headquarters and parking information will be added closer to the time.
Event Description
The Autumn O events will be ‘point-to-point’ orienteering event where you visit a number of checkpoints/controls in a specific order. You choose the level of challenge/length of course that suits you before you start, and the object is to complete the course as quickly as possible, while getting all controls in the correct order as shown on the map. There will be 5 different courses on offer - refer to the table below.
This is an individual event, and you start a few minutes apart from other participants on your course at a specific time. You can do it as a team with friends and family if preferred, and beginners can be ‘shadowed’ by more experienced orienteers who don’t assist with navigation, just to ensure the more inexperienced participants don’t get lost.
For parents with young children, let us know if you both want to try and run, and come early on the day. We will make sure that the course is open long enough to enable all the family to get in a run.
Timings
- Registration opens from 9am.
