Welcome to the 2020 Great Forest Rogaine!
Orienteering Bay of Plenty is DELIGHTED to be able to go ahead and run the 2020 Great Forest Rogaine, and on its planned date! The Great Forest Rogaine is a 3 or 6 hour, foot or mountain bike team rogaine open to all ages and abilities. TO ENTER CLICK HERE. |

What is a rogaine?
The event will take place through the Whakarewarewa Forest area. You won't know where exactly until you receive the map on the day. Whakarewarewa Forest has hundreds of the world's best mountain bike and walking tracks. You're guaranteed to go somewhere new, and it's all part of the ADVENTURE! Registration, the briefing, start, finish, pizza and prizegiving will all take place in the hall at Whakarewarewa School, Sala Street Rotorua. EVENTS
Team classes in each event:
All teams must consist of 2 to 4 people. ENTRY TO ENTER CLICK HERE. Online entries close Monday 20th July, midnight. Entry Fees Per Person:
Orienteering Club member discounts $10 per person. On the Day Entry: +$10 per person (excluding under 12s). Note: The Entry Fee includes pizza at finish! OBOP will also donate $1 per entry to the Rotorua Trails Trust and $1 to the Rotorua MTB Club First Response Unit. OBOP members - reserve free use of our mountain bike map boards - email orienteeringbop@gmail.com. First in, first served. Not a member? It's not too late! TIMETABLE 8am-9am: 6 Hour Registration 9am: Maps released 6 hour 10am-4pm: 6 Hour event in progress 11am-12pm: 3 hour Registration 12pm-1pm: Maps released 3 hour 1pm-4pm: 3 hour event in progress 4.15pm: Pizza ASAP: Prizegiving RULES, & HEALTH & SAFETY It can be beautiful, cold and/or wet at this time of year in Rotorua. The event will go ahead unless the forest is closed for safety reasons. There is a list of compulsory gear which everyone must carry - please dress and prepare for a great day regardless of the weather. |

PRE-EVENT COMPETITOR INFORMATION
This is now available here, and all competitors must read and familiarize themselves with the information. This includes important safety information and rules. Competitors will need to sign a waiver at registration confirming they have read and accept the rules, and that they are carrying the compulsory equipment.
